Rocks in the Wild Returns!


This summer, we're working hard again on our Aliakmon section. No one seems to agree on the sense of deformation. So -- Rocks in the wild returns with an emphasis on kinematic indicators!
This sample, from the mylonitic limestone, shows microfolds topping to the right of the photo, then are actually displaced by a small fault as well. However, before you become too pleased with yourself, note that along the right of the photo is a second small fault, with an apparent sense of movement "down" to the right.
Oh dear!
